The Best Chicken Popovers

The Best Chicken Popovers

Popovers and chicken barbecue, how can you go wrong with that combination? This recipe is a great game day meal, or any meal for that matter. It’s really something the whole family would enjoy eating. Although, the recipe is on the spicy side, so if you don’t really like so much spice, adjust the amount you put into the mix. Now, the popovers are not your traditional popovers because of the added corn and cheese, but they still come out great and really pair well with the barbecued chicken.

I know that the recipe gives you instructions on how to make it in the crock-pot and on the stove top, but you can bake this in the oven, covered at 325 degrees for 2-4 hours. You can also start on the stove top, then pop it in the oven at 325 for 2-3 hours, instead of simmering. I mean, you really don’t want to stand in front of that stove for a long time now do you? And that’s one great thing about making it in a crock-pot is that you just pop everything inside and just leave it alone until it’s done, just effortless. If the sauce gets too thick though, just add a bit more beer to thin out the sauce. You can also use hard apple cider instead off beer.

Doesn't that sound just yummy?
