The Best Dishes To Make For People Who Are Paleo

The Paleo diet is everywhere. Not being one to jump on food diet trends I made a conscious effort to ignore anything related to this uber popular diet, which wasn’t easy. Paleo recipes seem to be on every website. Every one of my social media feeds are clogged with posts from friends taking pictures of their Paleo meals.

I like to eat healthy. I stay away from processed foods that are littered with sugar. I try to serve whole foods with ingredients I can pronounce to my family but I have never been good at dieting. The minute I tell myself I can’t have something, well then that is all I want.

Moderation works best for me but when my sister, a person whose opinion I deeply trust, started talking about the benefits of a Paleo diet it was hard not to listen. What she said made sense. Eliminating complex carbohydrates and sugar from any diet sounds like a good idea. But for someone like me (and my sister) people love whole grain toast in the morning and a little brown rice with dinner I wondered how she was surviving.

She claimed she had more energy than ever, she felt satisfied at the end of each meal and though she didn’t need to lose weight she did manage to shed a few inches around her waist. She said the secret is eating the right kind of starches.
