
What you really need to pay attention to is the Limoncello, which is a huge and really lovely part of this creation.
Here are the simple directions for an easy but oh so mouth-watering and memorable cheese cake dessert…
Ingredients
- 4 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 16 oz. cream cheese softened to room temperature
- 16 oz. Cool Whip, thawed
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup Limoncello
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
The Step By Step Directions To Follow
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, spray a 10 inch spring-form pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a medium mixing bowl. Mix butter until is evenly incorporated throughout the crumbs. Press the graham cracker mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake crust for 9 minutes. Remove crust from oven. Allow to cool for 30 minutes.
- Beat cream cheese, Cool Whip, sour cream, Limoncello and vanilla in large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer Mix until very smooth.
- Once crust is cool, spoon cream cheese mixture into the spring-form pan. Smooth the top, using a rubber spatula, until even.
You will want to place it in the refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours. After it’s chilled take it from its spring-form pan and place it on a nice cake-plate. You can then garnish it with lemon slices or whatever you think appropriate!

Do you put the limoncello/sugar mixture, that you heated up in a pan, directly on to the cake while it is still warm or let it cool a little first? Seems like if you put it on warm you might end up with a goopy mess. lol
Where do you find Limoncello in the grocery store – the recipe calls for this and I thought it was a completed dish, not an ingredient.
Limoncello can be purchased at a liquor store like Bev Mo. It is an Italian liquor usually for an after dinner drink.

The first time I tried Lemoncello was in Italy. Loved it as a drink, now, I can buy a bottle and make a great cheesecake with it. Wonder what I will do with the rest of the bottle? Oh, well……
