I’m going to use parsley. I’m not a fan of basil either on chicken. I use parsley or Rosemary

Made this tonight and I thought it was awesome. The only thing I did differently was add a slurry of 2 tbsp cornstarch and 2 tbsp water in the last hour to thickening the sauce. The sauce would be amazing with meatballs or meatloaf, as well…

Basil is in all Italian spice mixes- used on chicken all the time, plus salad- maybe used too much??

Of course it will… It just won’t be as flavorful due to lack of fat content.

Not to cause drama but the recipe is not cut in stone. If you dont like thighs, use breast and adjust the time, If you dont like basil, use a different herb. If you love to cook, adjust the recipe according to your taste.

Thighs should be skinned, boiled with an onion in the water, then barbecue bake in oven or whatever you want . Very good to just eat. Broth in fridge. Skim fat off Broth for dumplings etc. Broth makes wonderful chicken and rice soup

Made this yesterday for lunch. I added some chopped onion to it and we loved it. The sauce was good over creamed poatoes with it. Also would be good with rice, I believe.

I agree, recipe sounds as if it has too much basil. A sprinkle perhaps, but when I try this, I’m probably just going to omit it. I only like basil in tomato sauce.

Chicken will never look like this from a Slow Cooker—–it cooks, does not brown like this.
