This Chocolate Ganache Cake from Ina Garten Is A Must Try

This recipe makes enough for one approximately eight inch cake but if you need more, you can simply double the ingredients. It takes just a few minutes to prepare and about forty to forty-five minutes to bake. It will smell and look so amazing, you'll want to try it right away!

Let's Get Started!

The Ingredients To Gather:

1/4 pound unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
4 extra-large eggs
1 16-ounce can Hershey’s chocolate syrup
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup  flour
Ganache:
1/2 cup heavy cream
8 ounces  semisweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
Candied violets or edible gold leaf (optional)

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

Preheat  oven to 325 degrees. Butter, flour  8-inch round cake pan,  line  bottom with parchment paper.

Cream  butter, sugar in bowl of an electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment until light, fluffy. Add  eggs, one at a time. Mix in chocolate syrup, vanilla. Add, flour, mix until just combined. Don’t overbeat.

The Additional Directions To Follow:

Add your batter to the pan and allow to bake for approximately forty-five minutes or until the cake has set in the middle. Make sure that you do not bake it too long. Allow your cake to cool completely inside the pan.

To make your ganache, cook your heavy cream, chocolate chips, and coffee in the top of your double boiler on top of some simmering water until it reaches a smooth consistency. Make sure to stir every once in a while.

Put your cake upside down onto a wire rack and then add your glaze over top until the whole cake and each side is covered completely. If you have to, you can always tilt your wire rack to get the glaze nice and smooth. Add some candied violets or some gold leaf on top of your cake in the center if you wish. Make sure you don't put the cake in the refrigerator.

The Simplest Way To Decorate A Cake Is:

Ina Garten drawing lines on a circular cake with white icing. In the comments section, Garten tells a user she created the icing by mixing together confectioner's sugar and water until she achieved a “thick, pourable consistency.” Then she used a butter knife to lightly graze the cake perpendicular to the white lines, creating a chevron pattern.
