This Hershey’s Inspired Chocolate Flan Was Better Than The Traditional Caramel Version We Used To Make

This incredible chocolate flan makes twelve servings so there should be enough for everyone to enjoy. For the cocoa, you can use regular Hershey's or Hershey's special dark and the same with the chocolate chips so you can choose which one you like best.

It takes forty to fifty minutes to bake and another thirty minutes to cool. It will taste so divine that you won't want to wait to try it.

Let's Get Started…

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup water

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Heat oven to 325°F.
  2. Combine 1 cup sugar, water.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until mixture comes to boil.
  4. Boil without stirring until mixture begins to caramelize, 5 – 10 minutes.
  5. Pour caramel into bottom of cups.
  6. Combine milk, 1/4 cup sugar, cocoa, salt, stirring until mixture comes to boil.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Add chocolate chips; stir until melted.
  9. Beat eggs, egg yolks, remaining 1/4 cup sugar until blended.
  10. Add chocolate mixture; blend.

The Additional Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Make sure to divide your custard mixture evenly over top of the caramel.
  2. Put your custard cups into one pan or two if one is not big enough.
  3. Add really hot water to the plan until it reaches about a half of an inch from the top.
  4. Place foil over top. Allow to bake for about fifty minutes or until done.
  5. Take it out of the oven, take the foil off and cool it in cold water for thirty minutes.

    Heavy duty?! I bet, LoL! I bet it will make us heavy too! Looks so good! But then I LOVE Hershey’s chocolate!
