It's amazing what shows up online, especially when it comes to shocking photos. Some of the more disturbing images have been proven to be hoaxes, but sadly others are all too true.
That's the case with a bacon photo that recently went viral after being posted on website Reddit. The photo features a plain old piece of bacon…until one looks closely, that is.
The photo got people talking, for obvious reasons, partly because of its shock and “ick” factor and partly because it prompted a major debate on the morality of eating meat. After all, most people know where meat comes from, but they don't think about it all that often.
Seeing what is still attached is an unsettling reminder for many that the piece of meat came from a once-living animal.
