Would You Every Try This?
These days, cream cheese frosting is the accompaniment of choice for delectable red velvet cake. In fact, like most people, we grew up eating red velvet cake only with cream cheese frosting, and just assumed that's the way it's always been served. Well, it turns out we were very, very wrong!
The original frosting for red velvet cake was boiled frosting, which may not sound very mouthwatering but is actually lip-smacking good!
We recently tried red velvet cake with boiled frosting instead of cream cheese frosting for the first time, and all we can say is…wow! It really is delicious and it makes a big difference. Cream cheese frosting is certainly amazing, and it goes well with red velvet cake, but this boiled frosting tastes like it was absolutely made for the red velvet cake.
