This Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe Is So Easy & The Perfect Week Night Meal!

The secret to this pot roast recipe is to sear the meat before placing it in the slow cooker. This makes it taste even more delicious. This recipe takes twenty minutes to prepare and six and a half hours to cook. When you get home from work or school, it will smell so good, you may not be able to wait for it to be ready!

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • (5 pound) bone-in beef pot roast

  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms

  • 1 medium onion

  • Onions Yellow/Brown

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon

  • butter 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth

  • 3 medium carrots

  • 2 stalks celery

  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary

  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Generously season both sides of roast with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the roast on both sides for 5-6 minutes each.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and stir in mushrooms and butter.
  4. Stir in onion; cook for 5 minutes. Add garlic, stir for about a minute.
  5. Stir in 1 1/2 tablespoons flour; cook and stir for about 1 minute. Add tomato paste.
  6. Slowly add chicken stock, stir to combine.
  7. Place roast over the vegetables.
  8. Add rosemary and thyme.
  9. Pour onion and mushroom mixture over the top of the roast.
  10. Cover slow cooker, turn to high and cook the roast for 5-6 hours.
