This meal requires a decent amount of prep work. Make sure to allot enough time to chop the various ingredients. You can even do this step the night before.
Let's Get Started…
Ingredients To Gather:
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 medium red potatoes, cut into wedges
- 2 cups fresh baby carrots, halved lengthwise
- 1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 4 canned whole green chilies, cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of onion soup, undiluted
- 1/4 cup 2% milk
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Step By Step Directions To Follow:
- Place flour and chicken in a large Ziploc bag and shake.
- In a large skillet, brown chicken in oil on both sides.
- Place the potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and chilies in slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Pour half of soup mixture over vegetables.
- Transfer chicken and soup mixture to slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 3-1/2 to 4 hours.
Finished!
This is actually one of the quicker slow cooker recipes. It yields enough for about four to six servings depending on the portions.

Yum!
Looks great
Looks wonderful, however chicken does not get crispy in the crock pot. 🙁
Will have to try this
Recipe sure doesn’t say whole chicken
Why can’t the picture portray the real thing in all these type of recipes? The recipe says chicken breasts, the above pic shows a leg and a wing. Also, the browned looking veggies and chicken did not come out looking this way out of a crock-pot. What’s wrong with presenting the real deal instead of using a fake photo for the sake of pretty presentation? I’d rather see the real deal.
I agree with you. Recipe given is nothing like the picture. Going to unlike this page.
When I opened the recipe it calls for chicken breasts; not a whoe chicken.
