When The Cold Weather Hits Nothing Beats A Nice Warm Bowl Of Our Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Make Sure To Traditionally Serve This With Some Crackers Or Our Absolute Favorite Which Is Sourdough Bread With Butter.

Here Is What You Need…

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 1 (3 pound) whole chicken
  • 4 carrots
  • 4 stalks celery
  • 1 large onion

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Put the chicken, carrots, celery and onion in a large soup pot and cover with cold water.
  2. Heat and simmer, uncovered, until the chicken meat falls off of the bones.
  3. Strain the broth.
  4. Pick the meat off of the bones and chop the carrots, celery and onion.
  5. Season the broth with salt, pepper and chicken bouillon to taste, if desired.
  6. Return the chicken, carrots, celery and onion to the pot, stir together, and serve.

    You mentioned crackers and bread to serve with this, but in the “things to gather” I noticed that pasta or noodles aren’t listed! Nor are they mentioned in the recipe. Maybe it’s trivial or “assumed” that you put noodles in chicken noodle soup, but you did list chicken as an ingredient…
    Just sayin…
