Who Wants Regular, Bland Pasta When You Can Amp Up The Flavor With A Cheesy Pesto Sauce Poured Over?!

This recipe makes about six servings but if you love pasta left overs like my family does then you can double the ingredients to make more. It takes twenty to twenty-five minutes to bake but it is sure to have your mouth watering even before it's ready to eat!

The Ingredients To Gather: 

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup panko
  • 1/4 cup parmesan
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper
  • 2 TBSP butter

Sauce:

  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 2 TBSP flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 ounces goat cheese
  • 1 cup parmesan
  • 1/2 cup pesto
  • 1 lb. Rigatoni

The Step By Step Ingredients To Gather:

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Put on the salted water to boil pasta.

  2. Make the topping by combining panko, parmesan, red pepper, salt, pepper. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Melt butter over medium-low heat. Add flour, salt and pepper, whisking until bubbly and golden.
  4. Add milk, whisking until combined and smooth. Continue whisking until milk comes to a boil. Cook and stir for one minute, until the sauce is thickened.
  5. Reduce the heat to low,whisk in goat cheese and parmesan until smooth.

  6. Whisk in pesto.
  7. Keep sauce over low heat, stirring occasionally.
  8. Boil pasta for 9 minutes, until al dente . Drain.
  9. Pour sauce over and stir . Sprinkle the topping over the top.
  10. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden on the top.
