This beef and broccoli recipe is portioned out for one person. You can prepare for yourself or double the recipe for date night. Impress your boo by preparing this the authentic way, with peanut oil and cooking it in a Wok. Now, there is some dinner conversation for you!
Let's Get Started…
What You Will Need:
- 1 tbsp peanut oil (or vegetable / canola oil)
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup broccoli florets, must be fresh to stir fry and not get soggy
- 4 oz thin sliced stir fry beef
- 1 tsp chili paste
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp coarse ground black pepper
- Pinch of sesame seeds (option, for garnish)
How To Prepare:
-
Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat, toss in the chopped garlic and ground ginger.
-
Add the beef slices and stir fry until they are cooked.
-
Remove the beef to a plate and add the broccoli florets. Stir fry the broccoli florets until they are slightly tender.
-
Return the beef strips to the pan with the broccoli florets and add the Szechuan sauce.
Note: This recipe packs a punch of authentic szechuan flavors and is super tasty. We recommend using peanut oil to maintain that authenticity, but if you don't have it, opt for conola oil. Remember that olive oil has a low burning point and won't work.
Enjoy!
