Why Order Takeout When You Can Make A Hot Plate Full Of Tender, Fresh Chicken Teriyaki?

Enjoy your favorite takeout dish from your very own kitchen with this chicken teriyaki recipe. Master this Japanese cooking technique in a few easy steps. Kick it up a notch and enjoy with Sriracha for a bold spicy addition.
Things You'll Need
  • Chicken thigh
  • a sprinkle of sesame seeds as a garnish
  • a sprinkle of green spring onion as a garnish
  • Olive oil 1 tsp
  • Teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tbs of sugar
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 tbs sake
  • 2 tbs mirin
  • 2tbs water
  • 1 tsp grated ginger

How To Prepare:

  1. Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.

  2. Cut the chicken thigh into small bite-sized pieces.

  3. Heat a large frying pan on high heat with the olive oil.

  4. Once the pan has heated, add the chicken and grill until slightly brown on both sides.

  5. Add the sauce to the pan and cover the chicken evenly.

  6. Bring the sauce to a boil and cook until it has become a sticky consistency and has reduced until there is not liquid left and the sauce is just coating the chicken.

Note: You can substitute for chicken breast, but honestly, the thigh just has more flavor. Serve over rice of your choice. Fried rice is the best though! It turns the dish into a whole meal, loaded with veggies and scrambled egg. Amazing!
