Why Spend All Day Over A Hot Grill When You Can Easily Make These Tender Ribs In Your Crock Pot?

These short ribs are enough for three or four people. You have to sear the ribs on the sides in a skillet before putting them in the crock pot but it is simple only takes about fifteen minutes. It is also totally worth it because it makes the ribs taste even better.

Ingredients To Gather:

  • Grapeseed oil

  • 2 lbs short ribs

  • 1 onion

  • 1 carrot

  • 1 celery rib

  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1 cup red wine

  • 1 cup beef stock

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • Salt and pepper

Step by Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Dry the short ribs and season the short ribs with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat up a large skillet over medium high heat, add grapeseed oil to barely coat the bottom of the pan.

  3. Sear the short ribs on all sides for about 4 minutes until brown and caramelized. Remove from the heat.

  4. Place the onions, carrots, and celery into the pot, add the thyme, bay leaf, a pinch of salt. Toss it all together, place the short ribs directly on top of the vegetables.

  5. Pour in the wine, beef stock, and honey, and cook on low for 8-12 hours, until the short ribs are tender and falling off the bone.
