Why Would You Ever Buy Whipped Cream When You Can Make It With Only Three Ingredients?

This recipe allows you to use either regular whipping cream or heavy whipping cream depending on your preferences. You can also use a hand whisk for this if you want but a mixer will probably be much easier. It is important to know when you have just the right consistency so that you don't over mix your whipped cream and so it doesn't fall apart. You won't want any of it to go to waste.

Let's Get Started!

The Tools You Will Need:

  • Stand Mixer with whisk attachment

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • Standard or Heavy Whipping Cream

  • regular or powdered sugar

  • Vanilla to taste

The Step By Step Directions To Follow:

  1. Set your mixer up with a whisk attachment and add in the whipping or heavy whipping cream into the bowl. With the mixer starting at low, work up to medium speed gradually and let the air start to incorporate into the cream. The more air that gets incorporated the fluffier the cream gets.
  2. After a minute on medium, soft peaks will begin to form. Soft peaks will start to droop rather quickly, so get back to whipping!
  3. After another 30-45 seconds on medium stiffer peaks will start to form.
  4. In this last 30-45 seconds, start to sweeten your whipped cream by slowly pouring in your desired amount of sugar or powdered sugar and flavoring, like vanilla. For the 1/2 cup of cream I used in this recipe, I used about a tablespoon of sugar. It wasn’t too sweet, but sweetness is all about personal preference. (You can use any type of sugar you want, even powdered sugar.)
  5. Test your whipped cream to see how it’s holding up. When the stiffer peaks start to form, and they don’t immediately fall, you’re done.
  6. The key is knowing and learning when your stiff peaks are just the right consistency so they don’t fall or they don’t get over mixed. As soon as the cream starts to look “curdled” and slightly lumpy, stop immediately.

Finished!

This whipped cream recipe is so good, you'll whole family will love it! Have you made this whipped cream recipe before? What kind of sugar did you use?
