This amazing homemade marinara sauce makes enough for six servings but if you want extra to enjoy later, you can just double the tasty ingredients. This recipe uses carrots for some color and crunch but if you don't like them, feel free to leave them out. It only takes about ten minutes to prepare and an hour to cook.

The Ingredients To Gather:
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 1 Onion
- 5 cloves Garlic
- 2 Carrots
- 2 cans Whole Tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Minced Fresh Oregano
- 2 Tablespoons Parsley
- Parmesan Cheese, For Serving
- 3 Tablespoons Tomato Paste (optional)
The Step By Step Directions To Follow:
- Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, and carrots, cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stir.
- Pour tomatoes and juice in bowl, use your hands to squish tomatoes so that the juices are released and they are all broken up.
- Add contents of bowl to pot, stir. Add salt, pepper, sugar, oregano.
- Reduce heat to low, simmer, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours, stir.
