The kids love it, it's good for a quick meal and it has good flavor. However, after finding out what the seasoned and experienced chefs add to the pot I was blown away.

Rosemary. It’s written in right before the recipe, but if you use Italian Seasonings in your sauce, there is already rosemary in it.

It is just to get you to click on their website. I’ll give you one little secret though. When you are starting the sauce, put a whole carrot in the pot of sauce and it will take all the acid out of the sauce.

I always use basil and 2 bay leaves, Italian parsley (in a bunch tied w/dental floss) a pinch of cinnamon, and….she said at the end to use some fresh rosemary. Maybe that’s her secret! (Stan’s wife)

Gee, I can quit buying spaghetti sauce & get tomato sauce & paste. I add all the other stuff as well as Italian sausage & celery. Everyone loves it!

I book my pasta with bay leaves. Gotta remove them tho. They’re inedible.
WASTE OF MY TIME: there is NO secret ingredient in that recipe.
Peel if you want. I rarely peel anything. Another hint: the longer you cook tomatoes, the sweeter they get, which is why it’s best to let your sauce simmer for “a while”.

I like a slightly sweet sauce, so I, too, add a bit of sugar, usually of the brown variety.

Baking soda takes the acid out of the tomatoes. Just a 1/2 teaspoon.

I use honey barbecue sauce and hot sauce for spicy

I use a tsp of sugar to remove the acid, and cook it low and slow. Works every time.
