I use 2 large cans of crushed tomatoes, for the consistency I like. MY secret ingredient is an 8 oz. block of parmesan, grated, to simmer in the sauce.
Dumb I always add a little sugar My secret is before pouring the sauce on spaghetti I make a little seasoning for the spaghetti
Your secret ingredient is rosemary?? That is in almost all Italian seasonings ! You guys suck !

I think the secret ingredient is a sprig of rosemary because they highlight it in the message before the recipe. I think Rosemary could overpower the taste.

Oregano thyme marjoram basil red wine bay leaf also saute your veggies by themselves not in the meat because when you drain the meat you lose all the flavor from your veggies
My grandparents came from Italy, they never used sugar in the sauce. Who came up with making sweet sauce? The recipe is almost similar to my grandparents.
I find these recipes are just come-on s, this is a basic sauce, with rosemary, which I already use. Some of these ads are hard to find and you have to skirt around lots of crap.
