Craving A Cheesy Casserole That Is Loaded With A Ton Of Flavor? This German Classic Will Be A New Family Favorite

Do Not Even Think About Substituting Anything Out For This Recipe. All Of The Ingredients Fuse Together. Besides; It's Insulting!

Let's Get Started…

The Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • Salt and pepper or creole seasoning
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup rice, uncooked
  • 3 large handfuls of roughly chopped cabbage
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups of water (I just use the tomato sauce can twice)
  • 1 14 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (I used Colby Jack)

Now That You Have All Of Your Ingredients Together You're Ready To Start Putting Them Together!

The Germans have a special way of cooking things, this isn't your regular, run-of-the-mill casserole, there is something really special that you have to do with the cabbage and the beef. Otherwise, if you miss this step and just add everything, your casserole will come out soggy and watery.

Also, the tomatoes need to be prepared a special way as well. This casserole doesn't cook for that long. Actually, it only takes twenty minutes so there are some time consuming steps that need to be taken into consideration.
