This crock pot roast recipe is not only the easiest one you will find but it is also the most delicious one I have ever tasted. Plus I love how you can vary the dry packaged ingredients by trying Au Jus instead of brown gravy or even skip the Italian mix all together if you like things a little less spicy.
It's easy because all the seasoning you need can be bought in those simple dry packaged seasoning mixes.
This delicious roast takes probably 3 minutes of preparation – which I really like!
Anyway, on to the recipe…
The full list of ingredients is on the next page:
That’s the only way I make pot roast. I flip a bowl upside down in the bottom of the crock pot to jack the roast out of the water. Much better that way.
I just love how when you click on this it takes you to an adverti$#%&!@*t.:(
I threw mine out!
The smell didn’t bother me but the ridiculous amount of salt sure did. No one could taste the actual meat used because of the amount of salt. Yuck.
If it is frozen, don’t thaw it out it won’t shrink as much. It cooks from the outside in so the frozen meat helps keep it’s shape and size. Learned it by mistake.
I made this roast and it was not best I ever made. It was very salty. Will never make it again. Would not use ranch in it at all.
I just mix gravy and onion soup mix together pour over roast and put in crock for about 6 hours.
I have made this before. Way too much salt, but really good if you just use half of each package rather than the full amount.
Better grammar, fewer emoticons!
That would be good to cook in my Pressure cooker! Everything gets so tender and juicy!
yummy to me
I wonder if that’s enough water? 1/2 cup is not much. My husband tries doing roast in crockpot and smothers them with beef or chicken broth to get enough liquids. Please let me know if that little water worked?
only one problem those dry mixes—brown gravy and salad dressing have too much sodium—are there any other options??
Uh, why is one of the little pictures at the top a TOILET? That is not the kind of pot I want to cook in! LOL
That’s because you’ve never tasted mine! LOL
I have did this recipe really good!!!!!
Happy Anniversary! Kathy & Tom
I always putt the veggies on the bottom.
This sounds good but very bad if you are watching your sodium intake. These packaged dry mixes are loaded and when you them up, holy cow, sodium overload. Bad for blood pressure and your kidneys!
EXACTLY!
You just ruined a good piece of meat by adding all that processed so called food
I make that in my Pressure Cooker and it comes out so juicy and tender!

Use beef broth instead of water
My husband won’t eat anything ranch. I use cream of mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix! It’s yummy!
The amount of water should be 2 cups..makes an awesome gravy and not too salty
how many mgs of sodium???
I always do also, even if I cook in the oven. The veggies get the flavor of the meat that way.
I am on a 1500 salt intake no more diet.
my family raved on this one…..although they did not know how I made it…..LOL
I made this last week.Great flavor!!!!
i have made this several times it is very good
Been cooking in the pots for a long time.
YUMM this is really good!!! the leftovers I used to make pulled pork, & BBQ
This is delicious! – Best way to make a roast!
way too many packages of processed ingredients. YUCK!!!!!!!!!
Sounds easy & delicious.
I did this and the roast was so good
I made this and it’s delish.
Too much salt!!! B
The only difference between this one and mine is that I add a can of Campbell’s French Onion Soup and a can of Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup. Delicious!!!
I agree, way too much salt.
I have done this. It is great!
I made it this way and did not care for it
Kim, I’ve done a roast like this and it was wonderful. Even put carrots, potatoes and even frozen pearl onions in it.
I’ve made this—it’s awesome!
Didn’t try the recipe. I just got so turned off by the posting using “your” instead of “you’re”.
This is why we are being diagnosed with heart disease plus more. Take some time cook from scratch and eat and live healthier.
Hate this. The posting is such a waste of time and patience!!!!!!
