If Your Hard Boiled Eggs Never Turn Out Quite Right, Try Making Your Eggs The Easier Way Instead!
Many of us enjoy eggs as an appetizer when we make deviled eggs. We also enjoy eggs in egg salad on a sandwich, or for breakfast.
The trouble with hard boiled eggs is they are difficult to get just right. Many of us end up with eggs that break while boiling. This can be very frustrating and may make us give up on making hard boiled eggs for good.
Instead of giving it completely and not being able to enjoy the eggs you love, you should try steaming them next time. This method is so much easier and the eggs will turn out perfect and truly delicious every single time!
This process will prevent your eggs from breaking or coming out not exactly cooked. They also taste a little different which is good considering that hard boiled eggs have to be cooked perfect or else your dish is ruined; it's not like you can peel them & toss em back in boiling water.

Think my way is easier. Eggs in cold water, bring to boil, lower heat to simmer, cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat. put a lid on, wait10 minutes. Remove eggs, run under cold water, crack & peel. Perfect every time with beautiful yellow yolks, no green from the sulphur. For soft boil, same but simmer 2 1/2 minutes, run in cold water. & scoop out. Some like 2 minute eggs.
DO THEM WITH DEVILED EGGS YUM
Exactly how I do them. Perfect every time.
I boil mine in water with a little salt i.pour the hot water off and run cool water on them.and let um set for about 5 mins then i put them in the fridge while i do other things and when they they cool off a bit they are so easy to peel 🙂
I use an eletric egg maker – eggs come out perfect, just how you like them, every time! no clean up, no mess, and I can make 6 eggs in 6 minutes! http://mealprepweightloss.com/electric-egg-cooker-with-auto-shut-off-for-meal-prep/
I crack & peel mine under running cold water immediately. So easy to peel & usually comes off in 1 or 2 pieces.
I have boiling them down to a science. No need for this.
Don’t boil eggs. Just bring them to a boil, remove from heat, and cover for 20 minutes. Perfect every time. None of the terrible outcomes described in this article.
I am already the Queen of boiling eggs, Peel perfect every time. They could not come out any better with this method than they do with mine !
Over cooked = green! I do mine a total of 10 minutes and then cool them.
Steam for 15 minutes. Done!
I hate all the stupid ads that pop up on this post and would never share it! Such a waste of time.

What is so hard to boiling water….geeezzzz
If you can’t hard boil an egg you need to go back home to your mommy.
I have to try it
But why not just try it?
Running them under water while you peel them is like brushing your teeth with the water running!! Big waste of water…..
I dont go to the next page for boil eggs lol
Works great!!!

Never have a problem boiling eggs…they always turn out fine. I have more of a problem peeling the eggs. Leave them cool, or peel them warm?
My neighbor man showed me how to use a rice steamer….works perfect!
What;s a steamer..?
That’s how I do mine. Perfect everytime.
Hi Frank. Yes, and I find you can vary the resting time a little depending if you like extra dry or slightly creamy eggs. One of these days I’m going to get myself a lab grade water bath and time eggs at 140-or-so degrees to get even better eggs. 🙂
I even do soft-cooked eggs like this. Bring to a boil. Then cover off ofthe heat for EXACTLY 3 minutes. Mmm … getting hungry!
Paulette Breland, I have been doing this for a few months now. It’s awesome and they are way easier to peel. I do 13-14 minutes then an ice bath.
Add baking soda to the water. Boil, crack and peel as usual.

I bake eggs at 325degreed for 30 mins. Turn out perfect every time
I tryed this it will not work.
You do not boil eggs in water anymore. You buy one of these electric egg cookers!
This is the best way and I do this also.
I use a machine that lets you poach, soft-boil, hard-boil and scramble. It’s basically a steam process and I love it!!!!’
And shake the pot. It makes peeling come off easier.
Shake the pot after emptying cold water and they will be easier to peel.
Thanks..I’ll try that!
Don Busch–your way is how I have done it for years!
🙂
Been doing this for years, and yes it works, but the time can vary for the size of eggs. I usually buy large, so 20 is right for that size.
put the hard boiled egg after being cooled into a small jar with a small amount of cold water, put lid on and shake till the shells are cracked. works wonders
Yes they do.
Works perfect every time. Beautiful eggs. If you flip the carton over night in the fridge it centers the yolk before cooking.
I have an automatic egg steamer that I really like.
Thanks for the suggestion Bonnie, I’ll try that also.
