These are seriously cute, almost too cute to eat. Thankfully the aroma that comes when baking them helps you get over that notion real quick!
While some pies are sweet these take a savory approach packing in a ton of flavor to a very small space. While sure you can use the same method and make mini pies for just about anything today we are focusing on the savory and what better way than making something kid friendly.
Anyone who has kids knows what it's like when they ask for the same thing over and over and over again. It gets dull and meals become lifeless so you have to think of ways to give the old classics a new twist and this is by far the cutest one I have seen. So let's take a quick look at the ingredients that we will need.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 white onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- Kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons dill pickles, chopped
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 24 mini puff pastry tart shells
- 6 strips bacon, crumbled
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- Optional garnishes, like diced tomato or mayo
