Do mine in the oven
what about the mess IN the oven ?????
we have a splatter shield with a handle set it on top of pan
I always do mine in the oven. It doesn’t shrink up as bad either.
I’ve never had a problem with grease splattering in my oven. It cooks more evenly and doesnt shrink up as bad either. This method is way better than frying it.
yup no mess
I use no foil, just bake it on the broiler pan.
I have always made it this way, so easy you don’t even have to watch it.
I do mine in the microwave.
I have always did it this way.
Microwave
It makes a mess in your oven though.
This method in the oven does far better than frying in a skillet.
Use aluminum foil and no mess on cookie sheet either!!!
I cook bacon in my microwave but I’ve also cooked it in the oven…..comes out great.
Bake in oven. Comes out better.
Been doing mine in oven for years.
Been doing that for many years and it’s even better in toaster oven…get with the times
I’ll stick to getting splattered!
Have been cooking it like this for the last few years. Love it. Less messy and bacon comes out in nice strips!!!! I also use the non stick foil. Works like a charm! My dad turned me on to this. I’d about given up cooking bacon at home.
This is nifty! We don’t eat much bacon, but I’ll try this. We do like a BLT when the garden is producing tomatoes. Larry does bacon on the grill….keeps the mess outside 😉
well, that certainly a good idea! Dad picked up the idea from watching Food Network years ago while he was cooking for mom. It’s so easy! I do love bacon and this sure makes it more convenient. How are you doing?
In doing good. I hope your recovery went well. I just got Larry home from Lazer surgery on his eye. Different situation than yours. His was to keep pressure down so not to become ful-blown glocoma. All went well. Just have to hope it slows it down. Sight is very precious!
Wear a shirt
This is the only way I make bacon Antonia Baker Josh Peters good lord if I would take the time to fry it John would have it all eaten before I could make one BLT lol
No standing over the stove, no spatter, no turning. Just nice flat crispy strips!
Best way is in the oven.
Bake in oven
I use a cooking rack that fits over the baking pan. Grease drips onto foil and no splattering. Bake 10 minutes flip over cook another 10 for my crispy bacon.
cook it on a bacon plate with wax paper over it 4 minutes turn platehalf way for another 4 all grease drains in
Yes it is. Never wanted anyone messing with my eyes! Worse with the eye drs than the dentists. Amazing what you can do to see!!! The shots are brutal but worth it. Couldn’t manage it at all without Chris to help. Glaucoma is nothing to mess with. Good luck to him! Glad you’re good. I’m sure enjoying these cooler days. Even turned off the AC. Hurray for fall! It’s my favorite season!!!
grease drains in compartment, save for biscuits, gravy, potatoes etc.
Betsy, Do you cook your bacon in the oven?
I’ve cooked bacon in the oven for years!
I use my George Forman grill mostly for bacon. It is fast, flattens the Bacon, no grease anywhere except the collection dish and cooks both sides at once.
Did this and the grease caught fire in my oven . Intense smoke damage to my kitchen . Not worth the risk !
Its called a splatter guard.
Thanks for sharing this very nice tribute, Mrs. Doris. Again, I am very sorry for your loss. With love
I use parchment oaperi
Never thought of that I’m going to try it
Old news, been doing this for years. Try using a broiler pan, bacon fat drips down and no splatter.
Been doing it this tor a while and I also cook in the microwave once in a while
I would rather use my Foreman grill. More even cooking and no splatter.
Yea cook it in the oven
I do that. Even turkey bacon taste better
I love me some bacon
Cook in the oven that’s how we did st the hospital
Been baking my bacon for years
Peter Leighty, this works great! I love crispy bacon and, next to doing just a few pieces in the microwave, this is a great way to make a lot without a mess. Saw it done this way by an Iowa pig farm wife a long time ago.
