If you like BLT’s crisis-cross 3-4 pieces (I sometimes cut the strips in 1/2) That way the bacon stays put in your sandwich!

i have baked bacon for years & never had a problem. Did you use a baking sheet with sides? Don’t see how the grease could catch fire, unless you used a flat sheet, where the grease would drain off & make a mess along with catching on fire.

Great if you want to trip all smoke alarms in your house, let alone oven clean up from spattered, baked on grease.

Better yet….lay bacon strips on sheets of paper towels (4) and cover with the same amount of thickness on a dinner plate or just on the glass plate already there. Cook on high in the microwave turning pile over halfway through cooking. It usually takes about 3 minutes per slice. When it gets close to the end of cooking, check to see if its browned enough for you. Then throw away all that grease thats been collected in the paper toweling. Your bacon will be flat, crisp and not greasy. Perfect bacon every time without heating up the oven and dirtying pans!

I bake mine in the oven on a sheet pan with a cookie cooler inserted (same size and shape as the sheet pan but with square holes). Grease goes into sheet pan, bacon is brown and crispy and stove top is cleam
