This really isn’t anything new. I’ve been putting bacon in the oven for years. Also works to set the tray on the grill rack in the BBQ if you don’t want to heat your house – or cook the bacon along with the burgers for bacon/cheeseburgers.

I cut a pound of bacon in half . I lay three pieces vertical and on top lay three horizontal. Bake until crisp and you have bacon sheets for sandwiches or hamburgers.

Or you could just fry it at a lower temperature, then you not only will get wonderfully crisp bacon without burns, but you won’t have one more thing to throw away. There is no “away.” We need to discard fewer things.

I switched as well. I LOVE bacon and now I don’t have to find a place that cooks it for me (yes I know, I’m lazy lol). I gave up cooking it at home since it was such a pain just for me, but now, with a sheet of parchment paper or aluminum foil it’s simple, and no mess! As long as you have a jelly roll pan you’re all set.

Next time you are baking bacon, sprinkle a little brown sugar and cayenne on top.

I have been doing this for years but I put it on parchment paper. After it cools, I can save the grease if I want it for something and I usually do.

Been doing this for a couple of years.. Great way to make a lot (or a little) less shrinkage and less stress of watching every second! Pieces always stay straight too!

And hereeeee you go! The Directions To Follow:

Preheat the oven to 400°F: Place a rack in the lower third of the oven.
If you’re cooking multiple sheets of bacon, position a second rack in the top third of the oven.
Line a baking sheet with foil.
Lay the bacon on the baking sheet in a single layer.
The bacon can be close together, but don’t let it overlap or the bacon will stick during cooking. If necessary, use a second baking sheet.
Place the baking sheet of bacon in the oven and bake until the bacon is deep golden-brown and crispy, 15 to 20 minutes.
Begin checking around 12 minutes to monitor how quickly the bacon is cooking.
The bacon fat will sputter and bubble as the bacon cooks, but shouldn’t splatter the way it does on the stove top.
Pour off the bacon grease as needed so the bacon isn’t totally submerged in grease.
Remove the bacon from the oven and use tongs to transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain and finish crisping.
    Finished!
